When fired against the named foe, the target must succeed on a DC 17 Constitution save or take an extra 6d10 piercing damage. If reduced to 0 hit points by this damage, the target dies outright. After use against any creature, the ammunition becomes nonmagical. Identifying which creature type the bolt or arrow targets typically requires divination or close arcane scrutiny. Hunters and assassins prize these for high-stakes contracts where a single perfect shot must suffice.
