How Cleric spellcasting works
Clerics prepare from the full class list each day using Wisdom, which makes the loadout the most flexible decision the class makes. The Domain you picked at level 1 adds bonus prepared spells you don't have to spend prep slots on, plus Channel Divinity options that compete for the same action economy.
How to pick Cleric spells
Match daily prep to the encounter you expect. Spirit Guardians and Spiritual Weapon are the workhorses; Healing Word is the bonus-action revive on a fallen ally; Bless is the round-one tempo spell. Domain-bonus spells stay prepared automatically, so plan around them.
Signature Cleric spells
Spirit Guardians, Spiritual Weapon, Bless, Sanctuary, Healing Word, Bigby's Hand (via Knowledge or Order). The class's at-table tempo lives in bonus-action spells paired with action-cost spells.
