An exquisitely clear sphere set into a small obsidian cradle. While attuned, the user may cast scrying at will, and through the scrying sensor may communicate telepathically with the observed creature, planting words directly into their mind. The target need not understand any language. Diplomacies have unraveled, prophecies have been delivered, and lovers have been driven mad by voices spoken across oceans into the privacy of thought. Scryers cannot block this contact through ordinary wards. The orb is a tool of empires, oracles, and patient predators, and is rarely loaned, more rarely sold.
