A substantial codex inscribed for one specific golem variety: clay, flesh, iron, or stone, the topic decided when the manual is first opened. Following its formulae allows a spellcaster of sufficient level and class to construct that golem over months of work and significant material expense. The book contains the secret command words and binding rites essential to animation. Once construction succeeds the manual transforms into a non-magical book on philosophy. If destroyed before completion, the project collapses and any clay or flesh involved decays violently.
