Description
A crystal formed deep underground that can store magical energy. These charge slowly over multiple weeks spent near nexuses of magical power.
When charged, this crystal functions as a consumable spell slot. To use it, choose a spell and spend your action to make an Arcana check with a DC of 12 + the level of spell you are trying to cast. The spell must be one you are already capable of casting, and be at or below the maximum capacity of the quartz (see the table below). On a successful check, the spell is cast without using a spell slot, and the crystal shatters. On a failure, nothing happens.
