Ecology
Copper wyrmlings hatch in dry, rocky highlands where their parents excavate winding tunnels through sandstone and shale. Hatchlings emerge with a taste for arid scrubland prey: lizards, hares, and mountain goats. They drink at hidden springs and roost in sun-warmed alcoves where their hide blends with the iron-rich rock. Each wyrmling claims a small territory of perhaps a square mile, defended through cleverness rather than raw force.
Behaviour
Even at this young age, the copper wyrmling delights in tricks, riddles, and verbal sparring with travelers.
