Ecology
Fire Elementals are living flames from the Elemental Plane of Fire, sustained by combustion itself. They consume oxygen and fuel, eating wood, fabric, oil, and even rock if hot enough. Without fuel, they slowly diminish over hours. They reproduce by dividing during massive conflagrations, splitting into smaller elementals that grow back to size. They cluster around volcanoes and forge cities on their home plane.
Behaviour
Aggressive, restless, and chaotic, Fire Elementals seek to spread, igniting anything flammable in their path. They communicate in crackling sparks, a fast-paced language that few non-elementals can interpret. They serve fire-themed gods, efreeti masters, and pyromancer wizards. Free Fire Elementals are wildfires made flesh, leaving paths of scorched earth before exhausting themselves.
Origin
Among the four elemental types, Fire Elementals are perhaps the most numerous, formed wherever great fires burn long enough to attract elemental essence. Powerful conflagrations - dragon battles, city sieges, volcanic eruptions - sometimes spawn Fire Elementals spontaneously. Efreeti nobles command vast legions of them in the City of Brass, treating them as living siege weapons in elemental wars against earth and water.
