Ecology
Gricks inhabit the upper reaches of the Underdark and the deep stone places where surface caves meet subterranean passages. They feed on bats, cave fish, and any creature unlucky enough to pass under their hunting perch. Their stone-colored hide blends perfectly with limestone and basalt, and they spend most of their lives clinging motionless to ceilings or rocky outcrops. They reproduce rarely, laying small clutches in deep niches that take years to mature.
Behaviour
Gricks are solitary ambush predators with little curiosity beyond food. They claim small territories and defend them with sullen ferocity, but rarely venture outside their stretch of tunnel. They do not communicate beyond hissing displays at rivals and recognize kin only during brief mating periods.
