Ecology
Quasits are minor demons of the Abyss, summoned to the mortal world as familiars by chaotic-evil warlocks and witches. They reproduce only on their home plane, in the shadowed pits of the Plain of Infinite Portals. Without a master, they hide in cellars, crypts, and ruins, feeding on rodents, small humanoids, and emotional misery. Independent quasits gather in 'mischiefs' of three to five for mutual protection.
Behaviour
Quasits are cowardly, malicious, and clever. They harass pets, frighten children, and ruin food stores out of pure spite. Bound to a master, they obey grudgingly and seek loopholes to torment everyone within reach. They love mortal terror and feed psychologically on misery. Confronted in combat, they turn invisible and flee, returning hours later with petty vengeance schemes.
Origin
Quasits are spawned from the foulest depths of the Abyss, often as the lowest cast-offs of demon lords. A few escape to other Lower Planes, but most haunt the Material when summoned. Their true names are short, harsh syllables that warlocks must master. Banished quasits remain in the Abyss for 100 years before rising again, bitter and seeking the same kind of master.
