D4=3:The party comes across a small village that is under siege by a group of hill giants and their giant wolves.
D4=4:A group of 2d4 humans are hunting for food. They are led by a paladin who is looking for a lost temple which is said to be filled with food.

D4=1:While resting in the forest, players are approached by a group of friendly wererabbits who invite them to a dance party to celebrate the full moon. However, the wererabbits' rivals, a clan of werewolves, are determined to ruin the party. Players must protect the wererabbits while they enjoy their celebration.
D4=2:A mystical stag appears, guiding the players through dense underbrush to a hidden elven ruin with ancient and forgotten lore.
D4=3:The players are ambushed by a group of 2d6+3 bandits. The bandits demand that the players give them all of their money. If the players refuse, the bandits will fight them.
D4=4:. If successful, the party can sell it for 500 gp.

D4=1:The party finds the remains of a traveling merchant caravan, goods scattered and bodies mutilated. A lone survivor, hiding and trembling, warns them of a malevolent entity that only attacks at night.
D4=2:You come across a small stream. If the party follows the stream, they will reach a cave. In the cave, there is a dragon that is sleeping on top of a pile of gold coins worth 4,000 gold pieces. The dragon will not attack if it is not attacked.
D4=3:A fortune teller is sitting under a tree. She tells the players that they will have bad luck for a week. They will get lost in the forest and fight goblins for a week.
D4=4:A group of 2d4 soldiers are marching down the road. They are singing about how much they hate war. They are on their way to a nearby village where they will be treated like heroes. They will gladly tell their story to anyone who stops to listen.

D4=1:A group of 2d8 Hobgoblins are searching for the party. These hobgoblins are searching for an artifact that was stolen from them by a group of adventurers who they want to kill to recover their artifact. The hobgoblins will ask anyone they find if they know anything about where the artifact could be found. If the party says that they have the artifact and offer to return it in exchange for a large amount of gold, the hobgoblins will reward them with the gold and leave them alone. If the party refuses to return the artifact or tries to fight the hobgoblins, they are in for a fight. They will be able to obtain the artifact from the hobgoblins if they defeat them, but the artifact is cursed and will cause the party to die if they ever use it.

D4=1:The party hears a man yell out in pain. The party sees a man rolling around on the ground, holding his leg. He has been bitten by a snake.
D4=2:A pack of 2d6 werewolves are chasing after a group of 3d6 sheep which are being herded by a group of 2d6 farmers who are armed with pitchforks and spears.
D4=3:A group of 2d6 men in chainmail are riding through the woods on horses. They are riding from place to place making sure no one is trespassing in the woods. If a player approaches, they will demand to know where the players are going. If the players do not answer, they will attack.
D4=4:A human ranger is on the run from a group of rogue elves. He is running through the forest, dodging trees and branches. The rogue elves are gaining on him.

D4=1:A family of 3d4 humanoids is having a picnic by a creek. If the party attacks them or tries to steal from them, they will attack the party. If the party tries to trick them or kidnap one of them for ransom, they will attack the party. The family is bringing their dead son/daughter to rest on the other side of the creek. If the party helps them bury their dead, they will reward the party with magic weapons and other magic items.

D4=4:The party hears a voice in the distance, singing a song. If they follow the sound, they will find a clearing filled with gold coins. There is an invisible creature that is singing, and it will attack if anyone gets too close.

D4=4:Two men are walking down the road carrying sacks over their shoulders and looking very tired and hungry. They are on their way back from the forest where they have been gathering mushrooms for sale in town as food and medicine (which they sell for 3 silver pieces each).

D4=1:A forlorn bard searching for her muse. Helping her craft a song inspires an extraordinary performance that boosts players' morale and abilities.
D4=2:A turtle slowly crosses their path, claiming to be “Sir Shelldon,” the knight. He challenges one adventurer to a “duel” that involves rolling for slow but determined moves.
D4=3:A group of humans are fighting with a group of elves about 20 of each.
D4=4:A creature with a diamond-shaped body darts across the path.

D4=1:A group of 2d6 villagers are walking through the forest, carrying what appears to be the body of a dead person. If players approach, the villagers will explain that they are carrying the body to the graveyard. They will offer food and accommodations if asked.
D4=2:A goose in a tiny wizard hat is trying to cast spells. The results are chaotic but entertaining. He offers to teach the adventurers one of his “spells,” which is laughably ineffective but could potentially distract enemies.

However, a dark force has infiltrated the tree and is causing it to wither. Players must journey inside the tree and defeat the dark force in order to save it.
D4=2:The party sees a group of 2d6+12 centaurs that are hunting game. They will not talk to the party unless they are invited to join the hunt. If they accept, then the centaurs will give them a magic bow that always hits its target with an arrow made of pure gold. It can only be used once per day, but it guarantees a hit and damage roll of 19 or 20 on any target no matter how far away it is or how small it is.
D4=3:A green dragon is perched on a high tree branch. It is watching a woodcutter at work at the base of the tree. The woodcutter is unaware of the dragon's presence.
D4=4:A group of 2d6+3 Orcs are getting drunk and wrestling with each other.

D4=2:The players come across a group of hunters. They have just killed a deer and are butchering it.
D4=3:A mysterious mist surrounds the forest, making it difficult to see and navigate. Players must rely on their other senses to make their way through. However, this mist is caused by a group of 2d8 hags who are trying to lure in travelers to steal their souls. If players are not careful, they may become victims of the hags' dark magic.
D4=4:The players hear a woman screaming and see flashes of light in a nearby cave. If they investigate, they will find a group of 2d4 goblins battling with a group of 2d4 kobolds. The goblins and kobolds are fighting over a woman who is tied up in the middle of the cave. This woman is a thief who was caught stealing from the goblins and kobolds. They are looking for it in the mountains that are in the distance. They will ask the players if they have seen it in the mountains. If players tell the truth and say that they have not seen it in the mountains, then they will attack the players.
D4=4:Players find a group of 1d4+2 dwarves. They are looking for a lost companion.

D4=3:They encounter a jackalope who speaks in riddles and puns. If they solve his riddles, he gives them a single-use wand that casts “Create Food and Water.”
D4=4:A chilling wind brings with it the scent of decay. Following the smell, the party finds an ancient, rotting tree with human-like faces embedded in the bark, whispering dire warnings and threats.

D4=3:A group of 2d6+2 soldiers are standing by a small campfire. They are on their way to a nearby village to help defend it against an invasion by orcs and ogres.
D4=4:Lying on the ground before you is a dead warrior. The corpse is holding a shield in one hand, and has a bloody sword in the other. It is obvious that the man was killed in battle. If the party investigates, they will find that the corpse is of a level 2 fighter named John, and he was part of an adventuring party that got lost in the forest.

D4=2:Two men are standing in the road arguing about something. One of them says, 'Why did you bring that foul thing here?' The other says, 'I brought it here for its healing properties.' This conversation is about magic mushrooms that can heal wounds but can also cause one to become delusional and even go mad.
D4=3:A group of 2d6 hunters have been tracking a group of wolves for several days, and they will try to kill them if necessary. They are loosely allied with local farmers, who have been having problems with wolves.
D4=4:A man is sitting on the side of the road with a broken leg. He is lost and looking for the city.

D4=1:While traveling through the forest, the party comes across a massive tree that is being attacked by a group of woodcutters. The party must choose to either mediate between the two sides or take a side and defend the tree.
D4=2:A group of 1d10 bandits are camped near the road, waiting for travelers to pass by so they can rob them.
D4=3:A tree with bark resembling human skin houses the spirits of the forest's ancestors, who offer blessings or curses based on the players' intentions.
D4=4:A traveling merchant is walking down the road. He is carrying his wares on a donkey. He is on his way to a nearby village. He will talk to anyone who stops.

D4=1:A sacred mushroom grove plagued by a virulent disease. Purging it provides keen insight into natural lore and collecting rare mushrooms without harm.
D4=2:The party sees a small fire in the woods. A gnome is roasting a boar over the fire. He will beg for more food and wants to join the party. He is hungry and will not leave until he has eaten. If he is attacked, he will throw his boar at the players or run away.
D4=3:A group of 1d4+1 half-elf bards are traveling through the forest, hoping to be discovered. They're singing songs about the beauty of nature and the wonder of the world. They're looking for an opportunity to perform in front of a large audience. They're not very good bards.
D4=4:A group of 1d4 bandits are looting a nearby wagon. They will attack if they are attacked or if they see someone trying to steal from them.

D4=1:A sorcerer has been using the forest as a testing ground for his spells, causing chaos and destruction. The creatures of the forest are looking for someone to put an end to his experiments. If players defeat the sorcerer and destroy his lab, they will be hailed as heroes by the forest creatures.

D4=3:A pair of wood elves are being attacked by a flock of sparrows. The sparrows can be made to flee if the players help the elves. If the players do, the elves will grant them a +2 bonus on any night time stealth rolls in their territory.
D4=4:You come across a small cottage that has been abandoned for some time now. It looks like it's been abandoned for at least several years now. Its door creaks loudly when you try to open it, but it opens anyway after a few moments of effort from all of you combined

D4=1:A harp's soothing music caught in the breeze guiding the party to a mystical clearing where they can commune with heavenly beings for blessings.
D4=2:A group of 2d6 humans from a nearby village are hunting for food. They are hunting a deer that is also hunting them. The deer has the ability to cast magic spells and can cast lightning bolt once per day. The deer will flee from the area if it is attacked or if it sustains any damage.
D4=3:A group of 2d6 lizard men scouts are in the forest. They are looking for prey. They attack the party if they attack any of the lizard men.

D4=1:While exploring the forest, players come across a group of 1d4 merfolk who have been stranded on land due to a powerful storm. They are in desperate need of a magical artifact that can control the weather and allow them to return to the ocean. D4=2:A group of 2d4+2 kobolds is walking down the road nearby. They are on their way to a nearby city to cause mayhem and destruction. They believe that by doing so, they will be rewarded with more food and gold. They will attack any player who approaches them or even looks at them funny.
D4=3:A party of 3d4+3 elves are hunting for food in the forest near a small pond filled with frogs, fish and turtles. Their leader is a level 1 ranger named 'Eloy' who wields a longsword and has 3d8+3 experience points.
D4=4:A group of humans approach the party and ask if they have seen a group of elves because they believe that the elves are plotting against them and are going to attack them in the future.

D4=1:A group of men are searching for something they have lost in the forest.
D4=2:The adventurers see a squirrel running an “Acorn Arcade,” filled with mini-games run by forest critters. Winning games grants tokens that can be exchanged for quirky, enchanted prizes.
D4=3:A unicorn is caught in a hunter’s trap. By freeing it, they are rewarded with a single unicorn tear, capable of curing any poison.
D4=4:The party sees a man rolling around on the ground, holding his leg. He has been bitten by a snake. He is deathly afraid of snakes and will not accept help from anyone who has been touched by a snake. If players try to help him, he will yell at them and tell them to leave him alone!

D4=1:While wandering through the forest, players come across a magical grove where all the trees and plants are glowing in various colors. However, the grove is being corrupted by a dark force that is turning the colors into shades of grey. Players must find the source of the corruption and stop it before the entire grove is lost.
D4=2:A group of men with giant swords strapped to their backs are walking through the forest. They are talking about their swords.
D4=3:A group of elves are hunting deer. The elves are level 2. The deer are level 2. The players can help the elves or help the deer.
D4=4:A group of men and women are arguing about something. They notice the players and stop arguing. The men and women are actually scouts for a group of mercenaries, and they were looking for easy prey.

D4=1:A group of 2d6 men in plate armor are riding through the woods. If a player approaches they will demand to know where the players are going. If the players do not answer they will attack.
D4=2:A massive, ancient tree stands before them, its bark covered in faces trapped in eternal agony. The spirits within beg for release, but freeing them will awaken the slumbering demon that imprisoned them.
D4=3:The ground splits open to reveal a network of bioluminescent tunnels housing an underground society of sentient mushrooms. They seek guidance and offer a gift of spores that can influence dreams.

D4=3:A group of 6d4+4 gnolls are attempting to steal from local merchants in a nearby village. If they are discovered, they will fight.
D4=4:While traveling through the forest, the party comes across a group of dryads who are being terrorized by an evil druid who has corrupted their sacred grove. The dryads offer the party help in taking down the corrupted druid.

D4=1:Bands of orcs are fighting with a group of elves - allied orcs and elves - about 20 of each. The orcs want to kill the elves or enslave them or something.
D4=2:A group of 3d4 Halfling thieves are planning a heist on a local village. They will ask the party to help them with the heist. If the party decides to help them with their heist, they will end up getting double-crossed by the halflings and lose all their money and items as well as get arrested by the town guard.
D4=3:A group of 1d8+4 Hobgoblins are on patrol. They are on the look out for anyone trying to pass through the forest. They are only looking out for themselves, and will attack anyone who gets in their way.
D4=4:An elusive shadow stag guiding them to an arcane sanctuary shielding from magical detection.

D4=1:A nature spirit’s plea to free a trapped forest giant. Success grants the party strength equivalent to the giant for a day.
D4=2:A rabbit magician named Warren is practicing his tricks. He asks the adventurers to be his helpers, and one of his tricks might accidentally lead to some minor magical shenanigans.
D4=3:A group of 3d6 mercenaries are sitting around a campfire, talking about their last battle. They were hired to fight against a group of orcs, but they were outnumbered and almost died. They were saved when a group of elves arrived on horseback and rescued them. The mercenaries were grateful, but they vowed to never fight alongside elves again because the elves seemed to be enjoying the battle too much and were too bloodthirsty and violent.
D4=4:You hear music from nearby. The sounds of a joyful celebration can be heard from a distance. A group of half-orcs is celebrating their anniversary. They're drunk and singing songs about their leader, who is called the 'Big Red'.

D4=4:The sound of battle in the distance alerts the players to a battle between two tribes of halflings. The battle is over a contested piece of land. Both tribes are small and weak. The players may attack them or choose to help one side or the other.

D4=3:A powerful druid has created a massive tree that has grown so large it covers almost the entire forest. The tree is inhabited by all sorts of creatures and has its own ecosystem. However, a dark force has infiltrated the tree and is causing it to wither. Players must journey inside the tree and defeat the dark force in order to save it.
D4=4:An elderly couple is traveling through the forest. They are wearing tattered clothing and carrying old sacks which they will trade with players for food or water or whatever they can get from them.

D4=1:The party comes across an area where the forest seems unnaturally twisted, with trees warped into grotesque shapes. A powerful fey, angered by the disturbance to their realm, emerges to challenge the intruders.
D4=2:A group of 2d6 men in chainmail are riding through the woods on horses. They are riding from place to place making sure no one is trespassing in the woods. If a player approaches, they will demand to know where the players are going. If the players do not answer, they will attack.
D4=3:The party is attacked by a group of 2d6 bobcats. They want to kill the party and take over their territory.
D4=4:A group of soldiers is marching in the opposite direction of the players. The soldiers are on their way to join a nearby war. They will fight the players if they approach them.

One of the dwarves is complaining about a lack of food, but the others are ignoring him and talking about an upcoming wedding between two of the dwarves that is going to be held soon at the nearby dwarven village.
D4=4:A group of 2d4+4 bandits are traveling through the forest. They are looking for easy prey.

D4=1:Players come across a group of peasants. They are holding a celebration in honor of a local saint. The celebration is interrupted by 1d4 wolves.
D4=2:A group of 3d4 goblins are setting up an ambush in this area by laying traps and hiding behind trees, rocks, and bushes.
D4=3:A young boy, who seems lost and frightened, runs up to the party and begs them to help him. His father is lost in the woods, and he doesn't know where he is. The boy's father is actually a bandit, who has been kidnapping children and holding them for ransom.
D4=4:A group of 1d4+1 robbers are lying in wait near a trail through the forest. They want to waylay anyone who passes by, then rob them and leave them for dead.

D4=1:A group of 2d6 bandits are cutting down a tree. If players approach, they will attack.
D4=2:A group of 2d6 giant spiders are feasting on 2d6 dead horses.
D4=3:Mists in the distance, a red glow that dances on the ground. The party hears a roar, and then a shadow passes overhead. A dragon has been hunting in this area recently.
D4=4:A fortune teller is sitting under a tree. She tells the players that they will have bad luck for a week. They will get lost in the forest and fight goblins for a week.
