The bonus stacks with magical armor, cloak of protection, and similar items. The shield can be made of wood, metal, or composite, and may bear any heraldry. Frontline fighters, paladins, and clerics treasure it as a reliable upgrade that requires no attunement, leaving precious slots free for other treasures.
