Description
A simple buckler, unremarkable save for a blue tint to the metal around its rim that is the only mark of the shield's true origin: the frozen wastes of Niflheim. Like any other shield, wielding a Shield of Niflheim increases your Armor Class by 2 and requires proficiency with shields. You can benefit from only one shield at a time.
The shield has one charge, which resets at the end of a long rest. When activated, an icy frost coats the outside of the shield for 1 minute and grants resistance to fire damage. In addition, when a creature you can see hits you with a melee weapon attack, you may use your reaction to deal 2d8 cold damage back to your attacker.
