The Long Eye
The Long Eye is an origin feat — pickable at character creation under the 2024 rules. Peek beyond the veil and see what lies at the heart of things, or what is to come. See the full rules text below for prerequisites and mechanics.
Description
Peek beyond the veil and see what lies at the heart of things, or what is to come. Choose one of your eyes to imbue with dangerous power. When you wish to try to coax your Long Eye open, use your action to roll a d20 and consult the table below. If the outcome is a spell, you cast it immediately without expending a spell slot or any material components. If you roll a 15 or higher, take 2d4 fire damage as the eye burns hot in your head.
You can attempt to force the Long Eye open and see through the cracks in reality, though you should only do so in a time of dire need. Grant yourself advantage on the d20 roll. Regardless of the outcome, after the result from the table has been resolved you take 5d4 psychic damage and are blinded for 1 minute.
Once the Long Eye has been successfully opened, it cannot be opened again until you complete a long rest.
If you wish, you can expand on the abilities of your Long Eye later with the <link /f/expanded-vision>Expanded Vision</link> feat.
