Ecology

Peri is a being of one of the inner planes, summoned, escaped, or birthed where planar boundaries thin. It is most often found in mountain regions. It is small-sized, which shapes how it hunts, hides, or fights.

Behaviour

Peri is simple in motivation but immense in reach — fire wants to burn, water wants to flow. Its Chaotic Good alignment shapes how it engages with the world — predictable in tendency, even when unpredictable in detail. It is largely instinct-driven; complex strategy is the work of whoever (or whatever) commands it.

Origin

Peri is introduced in Kobold Press's Tome of Beasts 3 (2022). Elementals come from the inner planes — the Plane of Fire, Water, Earth, Air, or the para-elemental borders. Within a campaign, its existence anchors a region with the kind of weight only an old, named species carries.
