Description
Objects in a 20-foot Cube within range are outlined in blue, green, or violet light (your choice). Each creature in the Cube is also outlined if it fails a Dexterity saving throw. For the duration, objects and affected creatures shed Dim Light in a 10-foot radius and can't benefit from the Invisible condition. Attack rolls against an affected creature or object have Advantage if the attacker can see it.

Doungim Lore
School Fit
The Evocation tradition is direct. A spell is cast, an energy is released, a creature loses hit points. The school is the simplest to read and the hardest to play well, because positioning is the difference between a good Fireball and a TPK. Faerie Fire earns the school tag through the spell focuses magical energy into a visible, immediate effect. At level 1, Faerie Fire is affordable in any caster's daily plan.
Class Fit
- Bard: A Bard prepares Faerie Fire from the known list, which means it stays on the sheet for several levels of play before retraining is an option. Faerie Fire reaches 60 feet, which lets the caster stay clear of the front line.
- Druid: Druids consider Faerie Fire against the Wild Shape baseline — every spell cast is a turn not spent transforming. Damage taken while concentrating on Faerie Fire forces a Con save at DC 10 or half damage, whichever is higher.
Tactical play (Doungim editorial)
Faerie Fire imposes a Dex save on every creature in a 20-foot cube. Failed save = outlined and visible (no invisibility) plus advantage on attack rolls against them. Cast it before a rogue's sneak attack round; cast it on an invisible enemy to remove their invisibility benefit. No-concentration version of Hex / Bless.
