Description
Until the spell ends, sleet falls in a 40-foot-tall, 20-foot-radius Cylinder centered on a point you choose within range. The area is Heavily Obscured, and exposed flames in the area are doused. Ground in the Cylinder is Difficult Terrain. When a creature enters the Cylinder for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or have the Prone condition and lose Concentration.

School Fit
Conjuration is the most physical of the magic schools. Where Evocation produces energy, Conjuration produces matter. The school tag on Sleet Storm is obvious from the effect — the spell places matter or creatures into the world that were not there before the cast. At level 3, Sleet Storm sits in the mid-tier slot competition.
Class Fit
- Druid: Druids prepare Sleet Storm from the full list each day, but the Wild Shape economy means prep cycles look different from a Cleric's. The 150-foot range on Sleet Storm leaves room for the caster to stay in the back line.
- Sorcerer: At tier 1 a Sorcerer's known-spell budget is brutal. Sleet Storm earns its slot only if the build cannot win the next ten sessions without it. The concentration tag on Sleet Storm means a single failed Constitution save can end the effect mid-encounter.
- Wizard: Arcane Recovery returns one or two slots on a short rest. Sleet Storm's slot cost is therefore not exactly what the slot column says. 150 feet is enough range that Sleet Storm doesn't pull the caster forward.
