Level 8 D&D 5e spells unlock at character level 15. One slot per day. Earthquake, Power Word Stun, Sunburst, Mind Blank, Antimagic Field, Maze, Demiplane, Holy Aura.
How to pick level 8 spells
How to pick level 8 spells: at this tier, most slots become situational. Power Word Stun and Maze remove single high-CR enemies for the rest of the fight. Antimagic Field and Mind Blank are personal defenses. Earthquake and Sunburst are mass-area effects.
Tier expectations at level 8 spells
Most casters at this tier rely more on lower-level spell loops than on the 8th-level slot itself — the slot exists for the fight that justifies it.
